Work Update

So, I am sitting at UT doing nothing and getting paid for it, it's great. I'm catching up on a lot of things that I would never have time to do. I spent three days making a cookbook for our Relay for Life team that will go on sale soon, so if anyone is interested, please let me know!!

I had an interview at Toledo Hospital, it went very well. But dumb me messed up on the typing part. I'm pretty sure I have the job, I'll find out for sure on Friday. His medical assistant has already started over there, so hopefully I'll be able to start very soon. I should just have to pass my drug test!! Hopefully, I will start on Monday, then I can get out of this hell hole.

My replacement is not catching on too quickly, I had to show her where the BACKSPACE button on the keyboard was. I had to teach her that you put

Thanks,
Amber

on the bottom of a letter, I had to show her how to fill out a fax cover sheet, and the best part is she has a Microsoft for Dummies book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How nice is that???

Other than that nothing is happening, I think we are going to move to Cedars, right across the street from where we are now at the end of December. Our lease is up and Matt and Andrea broke up, so we can't all live together like one happy family anymore.

Gary is great, I think he gets sweeter by the day, which is hard to imagine, especially when I had delt with Shawn and his crazy mood swings. Speaking of Shawn, today would have been our three year anniversary, I'm VERY glad we're not celebrating that one. Looking back, I have NO idea what even made that seem like a good idea in the first place, oh well, I guess that's why God made it so that people make mistakes and that they learn from them, I definitely learned from that one!!

I will let everyone know if I get that job at Toledo, I know you can't handle the suspense!!

If anyone is bored tonight, I am going to Bootleggers to see Steve Holy, tickets are only $25!!

Work

So, I got let go at work today. I am training my replacement, how nice is that!! They say I can stay until the 27th, but I'm out of here as soon as I find something else. For now, I am going to take the next two weeks to do nothing, just sit at someone else's desk and do nothing. My desk, phone, and computer got taken away.

One of the doctors I work(ed) for is leaving to go to The Toledo Hospital, so he wants me to go with him. I had plans of going with him even before any of this happened. The only problem is, he doesn't do the hiring, but I'm hoping with his good word, I'll be in. Another problem, he may not be starting until January 1st, so I'm not sure if they'll let me start before him. If not, then I think I am going to try to collect unemployment! Why not make UT pay for me to sit at home and do nothing, it's their fault they have a bad department chair. He is a great surgeon but an idiot as an administrator. His excuse-- he wants to get new blood up here!!! New blood- mine has only been here since August!!! How much newer can you get?? Oh, I forgot the best part, my replacement filled vending machines prior to this!!!

On a happier note, I went to see Sway perform at the Blind Pig last night in Ann Arbor. For those of you who don't know who Sway is, it is the band that Tim and Pat Stolkey and Dan Reott started after High School. They were VERY good, it's not my type of music, but I still enjoyed the performance. Keith Albright was also there in the audience, it was nice seeing all of them again!

Dumb ass me forgot to bring her ID all the way up to Ann Arbor, so we figured no big deal, it's 18 and over, so I can just get in as a minor. Boy, were we wrong!! It's a good thing we knew the band. Pat went over to get the manager, and he said I could get in as a minor. I got big huge black M's written on my hands, I had to pay $8, (but I did get a free non-alcoholic beverage!), and I was not allowed to leave the building for ANY reason. It's a good thing the people in Ann Arbor have a GREAT football team, or I would boycott Ann Arbor forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But, it was still a good time, even though I had to listen to alternative type music super sober!!

If you are interested in hearing Sway's music, their website is getswayedmusic.com, I highly recommend them, they were great, and not bad to look at either!!

I hope everyone is having a better week at work than I am!

Update

Sorry it has been so long since my previous post; I have actually been busy at work. I found out today, that I get to train my replacement for the next week, how nice is that? So, in a week, I may be out of a job. I will probably be out of one sooner, if in fact he tells me he will be letting me go after I train her. Because, I am not going to stay JUST to train my replacement.

On a happier note, I am making a cookbook to sell to raise money for our Relay for Life team, so if anyone is interested in buying one, please let me know. They will probably be $10 and there is about 50 recipes in it right now. We are also starting a candle sale which will start on Monday if anyone is interested in those. They smell very yummy, and they burn nicely too. I'm not just saying that to raise money, they really do. I love them, I'll probably buy three for myself!!

Also, I am recruiting people for an Arthritis Walk on December 2nd, if anyone is interested in joining our team, please do so!!

Have a great week, I will keep you updated on the job trauma.
