Moving Day
Well, it has been 13 months at the same place, so it is time to move again. I think this is the longest I have been in one place since before college. I hate moving!!! I really hope I get to stay at the new place for awhile. We signed a 15 month lease, but I'm hoping it's more like 2 years before I have to move again. I really hate moving. It is exciting to get a new place, it's just no fun to pack all your stuff up just to unpack it two days later. There is a lot of organizing and cleaning involved, which is great, I just wish I didn't have to move it. And, I know there are companies that move for you, but I called one the other day who just sat in the truck while you loaded and unloaded (All they do is drive the truck) and they wanted to charge me $400!! I couldn't even imagine the price if they packed all the boxes, loaded and unloaded all your crap! That would be like a car payment, a rent payment, and the grocery bill for the year! Too expensive for my blood.
So, I only have to work for 4 and 1/2 hours today, I get off at 11:45 to start the move. We sign the papers at noon and I hope to be completely moved in and unpacked in time for me to get a nap and go to the bar (bar time is 10:00, so I have to be highly motivated). We don't get cable or internet until Tuesday, so I guess I'll be watching LOTS of movies this weekend. I don't know what I am going to do, I won't get to see the ball drop (although I plan on being in bed way before that happens anyway). Is Dick Clark still the guy that counts down the New Year or is it Ryan Seacrest? The real thing I am going to miss is the bowl games this weekend, I guess I will have to go home on New Year's Day (to the parents) so that I can watch the Michigan/USC game, I have a $5 bet with an 80 year old man that comes in the pharmacy! He took my $5 from the Michigan/OSU game, so I have to get my money back! I don't know what I'll do without my tradition of all day football on New Year's Eve Day, anyone have any suggestions? Besides going to a bar, I don't want to do that!
I hope that everyone has a safe New Year's Eve celebration, drive carefully, there are a lot of drunks out that day. It's a pity that I won't be one of them, but I'll be fully rested on New Year's Day unlike all of you partiers!
Well, I think I am going to go down to the cafeteria now, to get my last McDonald's breakfast, as I am back on my healthy eating kick beginning on Tuesday. Monday my grandma will have fudge left over from Christmas, so I can't start on January 1st, it'll have to be the 2nd. It isn't a New Year's resolution though, so it's allowed.
Be safe and have a great new year!!!
