Happy New Year

Well, I hope everyone had a happy and safe new year celebration. Mine was alright, I decided to stay home and watch movies. I had really bad pizza, I watched two really bad movies, and two really good movies, and I went to bed just after midnight. I don't have a remote for my DVD player anymore, so I had to pick his side on the Break-up. I don't know if the two sides were different at all, but I didn't like the movie. I thought it was supposed to be funny, I didn't laugh once. Same thing with Wedding Crashers, I didn't find the humor. Which really made me mad, because I wanted to laugh!! Plus, Wedding Crashers kept skipping, I didn't like that at all. But, then I finished the night off with 61, a great movie! And half of Rudy before I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore.

On New Year's Day, I went home to Carleton. I did some laundry at mom and dad's house. I'm so glad they let me use their washer and dryer, I hate spending $2.50 to do a load of laundry. I went to my grandma's house to have the traditional dinner, pork and sauerkraut for a year full of prosperity and good health. I hope everyone's first visitor of the new year was a dark haired man (Gram says that brings good luck- and Gram is always right). After dinner, I watched parts of the Michigan game, they lost, go figure, Llyod Carr cannot win a bowl game, especially one on the West Coast. I think he needs to lose his job. He cannot beat OSU and he cannot win a bowl game, the two things Michigan takes the most pride in. My cousin from Virginia is up for the week, she has four cute little boys, they definitely bring life into the house!

Now, we will back track to Friday! I got off work at 11:45, and Andrea and three of her very nice friends (Dave, Matt and Tommy) were at our old apartment packing up vehicles, we had everything moved into the new place in about 2 hours except for the food and our clothes, it was very nice. They didn't complain once even though we now live on the third floor. I was very impressed with their work ethic, they only took one union break and that was because we made them. Then, we bought everyone Marco's for helping us, Matt is a firefighter so we got 5 subs and 5 sodas for $15, that was pretty exciting!

Andrea and I then went to Home Depot to buy shelving paper and light bulbs, $79 later, we came back home to unpack and organize, my favorite part of moving. Mom and Dad came down with the futon later on in the evening, a story all in itself. Andrea's friend Dave came back to help Dad up the stairs since he raised two wimpy girls! We finally got to bed around midnight, but the house was not done. We just had to put together the kitchen and do a little bit of rearranging.

On Saturday, my sister left for Cleveland. I was half way to work when I got a phone call, she left her keys in her purse on the chair in our apartment, so I had to get off the expressway on Alexis road, drive all the way back to the apartment to let her in the house and then go back to work. I was 20 minutes late, my sister is sometimes so irresponsible! But, I still love her. Saturday night, I decided I needed a break from all the moving excitement, so after work I watched movies. They were much better than my choices for New Year's Eve. I watched Glory Road and some other movie I cannot think of right now. You may be wondering why so many movies when I haven't watched a movie in a long time. Well, I would have loved to have been able to watch the bowl games, but I don't have cable! It is killing me, but we get it today between 10 and 12, which means between 10 and 5, so hopefully I will get to watch Law and Order and Without a Trace tonight.

Sunday, I finished the apartment, and if I do say so myself it looks pretty damn good! I am very happy with the results, now all we need to do is get some pictures and shelves on our walls and it will be complete.

Well, that was my busy weekend, I hope everyone else had a productive weekend. I also hope that you have a better 2007!
