Busy

Sorry it has been so long again. I have been super busy with my new job at the pharmacy and my new responsibilities on the Relay for Life team. I am enjoying all of it, although it is overwhelming and taking up all of my time. But, I am very excited about Relay, and you all know how I am when I am excited about something. I can't quit until I am completely satisfied. But, I am never completely satisfied, so it's going to be a long two months before Relay. Chris- I am very sorry that you didn't know what you were getting yourself into before you extended the invitation to me!

Last week, I was on a plane for the first time since I was four years old. I was a little nervous because I didn't know what to expect, but I actually had a lot of fun. I went to Florida for Billing Bootcamp, we were only there for 24 hours, but it was still a good time. On the way home, I got a window seat and it was dark, so I could see all the city lights, that was cool!

Nothing really exciting is happening in my world right now. I go to work, come home, do some relay stuff, then go to bed and do it all over again the next day. The only thing that is suffering is my dancing. I rarely make it to a dance lesson anymore because by the time 10:00 comes, I'm completely exhausted.

Kate- Happy Belated Birthday, I didn't realize the day had past until yesterday when I realized the date. My days tend to run in together!

I am a little disturbed about family Easter this year. Yesterday, I found out that we are going to celebrate Easter this coming Friday. The first problem I have with that is that our family is catholic, which means NO MEAT ON FRIDAY!! So, what are we having for Easter dinner you may ask, VEGGIE PIZZA! First of all, YUCK, second of all, I want Easter Ham! The second problem I have is that I have to work until 6, dinner will be around 5, so not only do I have to eat VEGGIE PIZZA for Easter dinner, I have to eat cold VEGGIE PIZZA. It is so strange, in all my 24 years, I have never had LaDuke holidays on any other day besides the holiday. I guess I have to sacrifice so Aunt Mary and Donald can celebrate Easter with us!

Since I won't talk to you guys before the real Easter, I hope everyone has a good one!

Long time no blog

As someone brought to my attention today, it has been a long time since I have posted. Well, I have good reason for that, I have been EXTREMELY busy!!!

I will start at the beginning. Two weeks ago tomorrow, I got fired from The Toledo Hospital. I got called into a meeting with my manager and she blindsided me with the news that there have been several complaints against me, most of which result in termination. Of course, I was surprised. Nothing had ever been brought to my attention. She went through the list, most of which were completely bogus! I will admit to two of them (reading books in my office, but my doc told me I could, and going above my supervisor's head, because she didn't get back to me in a quick fashion). The rest of them I didn't do. In my opinion, the nurse set me up because she never liked me! I know that is what happened, as all the other things against me were false!

The next Monday, my mom had surgery. So, I guess it kind of worked out for the best, since now I was able to stay at the hospital to keep my mom company. I was there for three days with her. Everything is good now, she did get a superficial blood clot in her arm. Apparently, the nurses on her floor didn't know what they were doing, I guess this happens quite frequently on the floor she was on. The clot has not moved or gotten any bigger, so it looks as though it isn't going to be a problem.

So, now onto my new venture. I told my boss at the pharmacy what happened and asked if maybe I could get a couple days a week in at the pharmacy until I could figure something out. Him, being the wonderful guy he is, said that he would talk to our HR director and see what they had available.

I received a phone call on Tuesday and we met on Wednesday. It just so happens that one of the girls at the pharmacy is leaving to move to Florida at the beginning of April. She is getting married on April 1 and moving shortly afterwards. So, there is a position available! Again, God is looking out for me!

So, I am now going to be working in the medical equipment department, mainly working on mailing strips, lancets, and incontinence products. Eventually, I will get involved in every aspect of the medical department. I will be still be working in the pharmacy department on Saturdays and whenever they need help. I will basically be going between the medical side and the pharmacy side, whoever needs the most help.

I am very excited about this venture. The only down side is that I had to read this huge manual, it took me about 8 hours. I also have to take 40 tests online, I have 6 complete! It'll take awhile, but at least it is something that will keep me busy until I actually start at the pharmacy in a week or so.

We also started having meetings for our Relay for Life team. I am pretty excited about this year's relay too. If everything goes according to plan, we should raise a lot of money for our team! I will post about fun opportunities for all of you to help me with that, there is a candle sale coming, but I'm not sure of the time yet.

Today, I got Yankee/Tiger tickets, I'm right behind home plate, about 30 rows up, YEAH!~!!!!!!!! Go YANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, that pretty much covers all that I have been doing in the last month. I hope all of you have been doing well and keeping busy as I have.

Have a great weekend!
