Okay, before I tell my story about flies, I have to ask for everyone's forgiveness as once again, I have been a bad blogger. But, at least you didn't have to wiat a FULL month for another blog!!
That being said, if you have a weak stomach, you may want to jump down a few paragraphs!
So, I came home Monday afternoon for the first time since Friday morning. I came home and it was a nice day, so I decided to let the house breathe a little bit. I opened the windows. Once I got to my room (the last room in the apartment), I pulled the shades and the entire INSIDE of my window was COVERED in flies. Not baby flies, big adult flies. Completely disgusting!!! So, I get my trusty fly swatter out and I kill flies (about 50). I then call my landlord. Of course no one answers, they NEVER do. So, I call another number I have, some girl answers the phone. I tell her about my infestation problem, and she says "gross" no kidding!! So, she says she'll take care of it. I don't hear from anyone Monday or Tuesday. Wednesday I call back and they say they are sending an exterminator.
Well, I don't know if they sent anyone, I call all the numbers I have for the apartment complex and no one answers! It is very annoying. The good news is, there have only been two flies since I had to go on my killing spree Monday. Two I can handle, I'd say that's about normal for an apartment, 50 however is NOT!!!!!
~~~~~If you didn't read the fly story, you can continue reading my blog now!~~
So, most of you know that Relay was Saturday. It was a HUGE success. We raised $11,300 which is more than double our total for last year. I have some great pictures, and once I figure out how to post them, I will! I think some of you know Chris, the guy I work with. We dressed him up as Marilyn Monroe to raise money during the Misster Relay contest. It is when guys dress up like women and collect money. This year's theme was the 50's, so we thought Marilyn was appropriate. He raised $349, I may be a little partial, but he was one hot Marilyn Monroe, I have pictures for that too, maybe I'll have my sister teach me how to download them onto her computer. I think it's about time I learn how to do that!!
So, my grandparents are moving in with my parents tomorrow. They are actually moving to Tennessee, but until they find a place to live down there, they are staying with my parents. Two weekends ago, we got to go to their old house and pick out stuff. I made out like a bandit! I got a really nice curio cabinet, all glass and oak. I also got a cool drawer unit for my bathroom, a bright yellow shelf for my kitchen, four baskets, three end tables, a springform pan, and some other stuff. I'm very excited. Now all I need is a house I can call my own and I'll be very happy!
Oh, I almost forgot, Shawn is supposed to turn himself in on the 15th! Which means I'll get my $7000. No one hold your breath though, I don't want to go to any of your funerals!
Back to reality, I am learning more and more at the pharmacy each day. They say I'm ready for a desk, but I don't think so! There are still a few things I don't know how to do.
My grandparents going away party is Sunday, I'm in charge of fruit, I still think sometimes that my mom doesn't understand what a great cook I am. I always get the easy things, fruit, veggies, tossed salad.... I want to showcase my talents!! I think I'm going to make apple bread though. It sounds delicious!
Well, I think that's all that's happening in my world right now. I hope to post soon (and by soon I mean within the next two weeks)
Happy Father's Day, Flag Day, and Fourth of July in case I don't get to!
